Working with ethical gifting brand That Counts was an absolute pleasure. I had immediate synergy with the Founder, Micaela, having both started our careers at charity Cancer Research UK (though we never met).
That Counts offers beautifully designed products with dreamy packaging that look good, taste good, bring joy & spread delight. Working with social enterprises, small & local businesses wherever possible and donating 5% of profits to charities Refugee Action and Make Bank.
Micaela needed some support on marketing strategy with a focus on steady, sustainable growth which allowed her to focus on what she's good at and enjoys.
Kind words from That Counts Founder, Micaela Ferreira Lindsay:
"We started working with Clare at the very start of our business. We have big ambitions for our brand, and really wanted to have a CMO on board to help us navigate a purpose-led marketing strategy and plan. Although we only worked with Clare for a few months, it felt like she had always been a part of our very small team. She worked closely with me to understand my ambitions, my skills, and my capacity and used that to inform a clear marketing strategy to guide us forward. Clare didn’t start working with us with a preconceived idea of what our marketing strategy should look like. She really took the time to listen and learn before giving us guidance. This meant that we not only received a perfectly tailored marketing plan, but we also weren’t paying for anything we already knew or had.
"Clare’s retail and e-commerce experience was invaluable in helping us set relevant bench marks for our growth, and in helping us define our messaging. But the most value came from who Clare is as a person and what she’s like to work with – kind, focused, and not afraid of a challenge. Working with someone who’s values aligned with our purpose was beyond our expectations, and we look forward to building our relationship with her as our business grows."
The That Counts team have already implemented so much of what we discussed and are on a brilliant trajectory for success. So much so that they're now hiring a studio/marketing assistant to get everything done!
I wish Micaela and the team every success for the future and give heartfelt gratitude to have been a part of their journey.
